We adopted two families as part of Care House’s Adopt a Family Christmas Event. Care House is a child-friendly, family-centered facility that coordinates the complex investigation, prosecution, and treatment services to victims of child abuse.
To Detroit, With Love saw a need in the community for delivery of clothing, food and home goods. Because we love our Detroit neighbors in need, we bring those items without question. Everyone is welcome to give and everyone is welcome to receive. We bring love and friendship with every delivery. human connection, along with furnishings, is how we turn houses into homes and neighbors into friends.
Life Remodeled focuses on the intentional and equitable revitalization of Detroit neighborhoods distinguished by their significant need and radical hope. Projects are determined by the community’s needs and vision, and we assist in three areas: Renovating and repurposing former community assets, repairing owner-occupied homes, and mobilizing 10,000 volunteers to beautify 300 city blocks in six days. We volunteered for the second year in a row to help clear and clean alley ways in the neighborhood.
In partnership with federal and state agencies, Focus Hope provides 42,000 low income seniors with monthly food packages to help them meet basic needs. They also provide opportunities to obtain health screenings, income support, tax preparation and utility assistance. We volunteered a day at their Detroit warehouse to pack food boxes for Seniors.
